Diplomats leaving the Iran-hosted dinner for Security Council members had little to say. The U.S. was represented by deputy ambassador Alejandro Wolff rather than Susan Rice. It is notable that China’s ambassador chose to attend. In the past, China has annoyed other members of the permanent five by sending lower level diplomats to their private confabs on Iran.
